Z-Wave 800 series chips deliver exceptional smart home-connected device experiences through reliable Sub-GHz wireless bands, robust security, extended battery life, and easy Smart Start commissioning. The Z-Wave 800 Series is designed to meet the demands of smart home, hospitality, and multi-dwelling unit (MDU) IoT segments today and in the future. It is an optimal wireless protocol for applications where long-range, high-performance, low power, and increased device security are vital. These include in-home devices such as smart lighting, thermostats, door locks, garage door openers, switches, security systems, doorbell cameras, sensors, and more. Z-Wave 800 includes Z-Wave LR (Long Range), which can be commissioned automatically or updated via OTA (over-the-air) in the future. Z-Wave LR opens entirely new market categories for edge-of-property device development.
This series is the latest edition of the world’s most popular IoT mesh protocol for connected devices in the home. Thus far, these chips have been underutilized in the market, in part because many smart home device makers don’t fully comprehend the benefits they offer.
